In this unit we had to create something that turns and with nature. We had the option to choose what two things to combine and i chose this. I chose this because, although how unoriginal this piece is, the sun always looks like its turning so i chose that and both the sun and moon are apart of nature so i chose to combine it all. I originally started doing something else with a with a watermil
Here we were able to find our own picture that we wanted to recreate but paint it ourselves. For this painting, i decided to just look up water coloring pictures and found this cool picture of an astronaut falling from the sky where everything around him was white except for where he was falling from for which it was all color. This painting was fun to create because it was different but simple with a bit of challenge.
In this unit we learned how to create sweets. This picture is a picture of my cupcake. The cupcake is made of a mix of blue and pink, with a white shade underneath. The blue was made to create a shade to show where a shadow in the cupcake was. This was a very quicl lesson but people were allowed to do what they wanted.
In this unit we learned how to print make with blocks. I originally had a different plane which what i was going to make but then i came up with a more "simple" idea that was easier for me to do. This project was really fun aside from stabbing the left side of my hand. So first what we did wa trace/create an image that we wanted to make, then on the back of it shade graphite over it then put the shaded part down on the block and use a pen to re-trace your image. This allows the graphite to stick and create the image that you want. Then once the image is portrayed on the block, you can outline it in a sharpie the you start carving. Before you start carving (since the blocks are stiff and hard) Mrs. Hagerty allowed people to use irons to heat up the blocks and make it easier to carve. This unit was really fun but it was a lot of work and details.
In this unit we learned how to do several knots and create images. my tester was the fish shown above, i was adjusting to the different types of stitching. In both images i decided to do something simple so i wouldn't be pushing myself too hard. My main stitch was probably the crossed stitch. I liked the look of it and it was very easy. This unit we started pottery. My first thing I made was the plate above. We first had to go outside and pick out a couple of leaves that we would want on our plate, then we got a slab of clay. Afterwards we traced the clay with a paper plate which we then put the clay part in, dropped it in the plate and created the plate look. Next I created the mug above. I started with on slab of clay, rolled it out so it was as thick as my pinky fingers, and made it into two slabs. I then put together the two slabs to make the mug shape then added the base by putting a circle piece of clay above it then I scratched it out so the two pieces would stick together and then added two handles. The last thing i made was a reindeer ornament. I first outlined the face separately, then made the antlers the again separately made the "holly". I put it together by scraping the clay to put the everything that was separate on. I then used a stroke and coat then the actual paint so this is my outcome. This unit was very fun and i enjoyed it a lot. I learned a lot about pottery and the making of art work.

I hear.. the water rushing I smell.. The fresh grass farm animals I need.. to come back to this peaceful place I am going.. to feed these swans I feel.. Free and happy I want.. To walk with the animals Dear Faith, Today as i was walking down my road i saw this small river that lead to an open range with many animals wandering around. I stopped to take a look when i realized just how peaceful it was. So I sat down and started painting. I hope one day I can show you this magnificent place. |
